Ada Stewart

Ada Earnestine Stewart was born March 9, 1923 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Marcus and Ivy Strube. She married James Stewart on March 24, 1942 and they were happily married for 72 years until his death in July 4, 2014.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting, needle point, family, and reading her Bible.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Brazoria with Chaplain Cliff Robertson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria. Serving as pallbearers are Joey Roye, Stewart Roye, Joshua Hebert, Chad Stewart, Jerry Roye, and James Roye. Honorary pallbearers are Haden Roye, Lane Stewart, George Easterling, Roy Carl, Vince Roye, Nick Roye, Teylor Yarrish, and Trent Russ.

Earnie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, an infant daughter Barbara Lynn, and daughter JoAnn Roye.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Stewart and wife Christy; brother, Cecil Strube and wife Barbara; and son in law, Jerry Roye; grandchildren, Joey Roye and wife Lanette; Janna Aulie; James Roye and wife Hayley; Leanne Stewart; Tamra Dandridge and husband Dion; Chad Stewart and wife Mimi; Taylor Russ and wife Chelsea; and Kalee Powers; great-grandchildren, Stewart, Haden, Clare and Emma Roye; Joshua Hebert; Heather Jurek; Deanna DeMarco; Evelynn, Vince and Nick Roye; Teylor Yarrish; Lane Stewart; Kylie and Jaden Stewart; Reese and Trent Russ; and 3 Great-Great-Grand children.

The family would like to thank IPH Hospice Care team for the kindness and service they showed to Miss Earnie. They would also like to thank her special caregivers: Angie Betancourt, Ann Roarke, Ellen Hill, Janice Pollard, Jeanette Berry, Shirley Wilkes, and Susan Pollock.
