Alberta Sparks

Alberta New Sparks, 96, fell asleep in death June 8, 2026. Alberta was born in Lavaca County, TX on February 27, 1930, to Floyd and Maggie New.

She married B.J. Sparks, April 14, 1948 in Brazoria, TX. They were married 61 years. Alberta and B.J. spent most of their time together working on their ranch or in their ministry. She was a hard worker, loved to garden and was known for her pecan pie. They had 3 children: Leslie Wayne Sparks, Illeen Elizabeth Mickens (Donnie), Vicky Ann Jones. Grandchildren: Donna Elizabeth Mickens, Michael Jones (Sarah), Christina Nicole Fox, Kyle (Natalie) Eric, and Dean (Teresa). Great-Grandchildren: Zach, Avery, Branden, and Jenna. She was preceded in death by her husband B. J. Sparks, Son Leslie Wayne Sparks, 6 Brothers and one sister.

Alberta was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 2, 1961. One of her greatest joys in life was to teach her Bible students about God’s Kingdom and the wonderful hope for the future that God promises.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1406 S Columbia Dr., West Columbia, Texas 77486.  Flowers may be sent to C T Baker & Sons Funeral Home or to the family if desired.
