Alice Darlene Caldwell, a vibrant spirit born on January 1, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Lake Jackson. Alice’s journey through life was marked by the joy she found in the simplest of pleasures, from playing poker and swimming to her undeniable love for sports cars and the thrill of taking her son, Corey, to amusement parks. Her laughter echoed through the halls of many loved ones’ homes, bringing warmth and joy wherever she went.
As a devoted mother, Alice's proudest accomplishment was nurturing her family with love, kindness, and unwavering support. She leaves behind her beloved son Corey Caldwell and his wife Heaven, as well as her sons Donald Erdman and Joel Lara. Alice’s generous heart not only embraced her biological family but also extended to her adopted sons Matt Moore, Josh Bice, and Darren McNutt. She shared life’s beautiful moments with her cherished grandchildren, Joanah, Kyber, and Junipher, creating countless memories filled with love and laughter.
Alice is survived by her loving sister, Stephanie LeBlanc, who held a special place in her heart, and many other family members and friends who will remember her fondly. While she is missed dearly, the legacy of her love and vivacious spirit will resonate in the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hassel Delmar Balkum, her mother, Laura Mae Foster, and her husband, Elwood Caldwell. Alice also mourned the loss of her brothers Steve Balkum and David Balkum, and her granddaughter, Racheal Erdman, each of whom held a cherished place in her heart.
A visitation to celebrate Alice's life will be held on May 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas. She will then be laid to rest at Old Columbia Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
Alice Caldwell's memory will forever remain a beacon of love, family, and cherished times spent with those she adored. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, a gentle reminder of the joy of life and love.
