Andrew Gutierrez, 54, of Sweeny, Texas passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Brazoria, Texas. Andrew (better known as “Flea” to friends) was born on July 9, 1966 to Isabel O. and Sarah Gutierrez in Sweeny, Texas. He graduated from Sweeny High School in 1984, where he continued his education at Blinn Junior College. Andrew was actively involved in many sports and other activities throughout his high school years including football, track and field, baseball and cross country where he received the Ray Milstid Memorial award. He was a member of the Sweeny High School Band, the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where he served as President and Vice President.

Andrew will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He had the ability to brighten anyone’s day with his warm welcoming heart and always having a smile on his face. He was an avid sports fan who loved all his professional Houston Teams. He faithfully enjoyed his tailgating at all the Houston Texans games and his backyard tailgating with friends and family. This is where he started his cook-off team called the Lazy Boy Cookers with his family and friends. When he wasn’t out tailgating, he was always known to be Barbequing at home for his mother and whoever wanted to just stop by. Andrew was also well known for playing men’s slow pitch softball for over 20 years with a team he helped start called the Lethal Weapon. He was also well known throughout Southern Brazoria County for putting together his famous football or basketball pots and just hanging out with all his good friends watching a sports game on TV. He will forever be missed by so many who he called family.

Andrew is preceded in death by his father Isabel O. Gutierrez, grandparents Simon P. & Felicitas Gutierrez and Juan & Trinidad Gonzales.
