Annette Marie Elster, 61, of Damon, Texas went to her heavenly home on October 7, 2023, surrounded by her family. Annette was born to the late Arnold Joe Svoboda and Tillie Pavlicek on July 11, 1962, in East Bernard, Texas.
Annette was a loving mother, devoted daughter and wife, and an outstanding grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper, then transitioned into her career as a secretary for Damon ISD for 20 years. There she developed many friendships and impacted the lives of countless students and coworkers. She and her husband, Glen, cultivated a wonderful life for their children and she continued to do so after his passing in 2004.
After retiring from Damon ISD, alongside her siblings, she compassionately cared for her parents until the end of their lives. She enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, dancing, fishing, refinishing furniture, being an adoring Nonnie to her grandsons, and spending time with her family. She was the hardest worker, among the best of cooks, a wonderful listener, and all around a selfless person. Throughout her life she remained a pillar of strength for her family.
Annette was a lifelong member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church of Damon, Texas and passes down her unwavering faith to her children.
Annette is survived by her son, Jacob Glen Elster of Damon, daughter Jenna Marie Ferguson (Sean) of Angleton, sisters Evelyn Boeker (Lee) of Angleton, Eileen Medwedeff (David) of Sugar land, Kathleen Lindemann (Tony) of Damon, Carolyn Riedel (Randy) of Richmond, a brother Arnold F. Svoboda of Damon, grandchildren Emmett and Warren Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents Arnold Joe Svoboda and Tillie Pavlicek, and her husband, Glen.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday October 12th, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, Damon. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM, a funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 am with Father Marty Pham officiating. Interment to follow mass at the church cemetery.
