Arthur Lynn Edison was born July 9, 1967, to Gifford Sr. and Beatrice Edison of Brazoria, Texas. Arthur grew up in the Mims Community in Brazoria Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age attending Zion Temple AME Church. He was involved in several church activities alongside his mother Beatrice Edison.
Arthur graduated from Sweeny High School in 1985. He attended Brazosport College where he studied to become an electrician. He worked from Mississippi to the Texas border during his 30 plus years as an electrician.
After moving to Houston, he became a member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church where he attended with his family. Arthur was a God-fearing man who loved people and sharing his thoughts.
Arthur enjoyed being around his family and friends. He loved to barbecue, proclaiming himself as a Pit-Master. Every year he would help prepare the meat for the Edison Family Reunion. During these times he enjoyed being with his cousins and friends talking, joking, and sharing old stories. He made sure that everyone enjoyed the food and had lots of fun.
Another one of his passions was Drag Racing. He would spend many hours working on his prized possession (his race car) getting it ready for the next race. The people he met in the racing community have become extended family.
On the weekends, Arthur could be found at his home in Brazoria. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether cooking, talking with friends or relaxing under the carport.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Gifford Edison Sr.; mother, Beatrice Lou Edison; and brother, Gifford “Max” Edison Jr.
Arthur is survived by his wife, LaTeresa Wilson Edison; daughters, Kamron and Ryleigh Edison; son, Anthony Wilson; granddaughter, Janiyah Coleman; sister-in-law, Judeene Edison; nieces, Natalie and Nicole Edison; nephew, Jayson Edison; great nephew, Kahkeal Harris; god-daughter, Shereena Simple; and a whole host of very close family, friends and extended family.
