Obituary

July 12, 2026, passing peacefully at the late hour of 10:20 PM surrounded by the care of hospice and her loving daughters; following a cancer diagnosis in June that had quickly spread, Barbara’s final days were focused on comfort, and she expressed beautifully that she was ready to be with her Lord.

Barbara was born in Houston, Texas, on November 15, 1955, to Harold and Dorothy Taft. She grew up in Houston and graduated from Bellaire High School. She later married the love of her life, Marshall D. Harding, a proud Navy Veteran from Damon, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with twin daughters, Sara and Christine.

A woman of profound faith and selflessness, Barbara lived a life dedicated to service to the Lord and others. She spent 35 years serving her patients as a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN), a calling she truly loved and poured herself into right up until her diagnosis. She was truely dedicated to nursing.

Beyond her career, Barbara was a memorable person in her community. She generously gave her time and finances to her church, routinely donated food and clothing to the hungry, and personally cared for sick and dying loved ones throughout her life. Known for her immense empathy (which often seemed blunt) , she shared her presence during others' hardships and even employed individuals who had a difficult time finding employment elsewhere. She made a difference in others lives. Her home and heart truly felt like a piece of "Frog Heaven."

Above all, Barbara cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and devotion.

She is survived by her loving daughters and their families: Sara Pittser and her husband Josh, and Christine Blaser and her husband Bryden. She was the incredibly proud grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren: Ethan Baren, Audrey Pittser, Alexandria Blaser, and Wynter Blaser.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Marshall D. Harding, and her parents, Harold and Dorothy Taft.
