Benjamin Shipley

Benjamin Allen Shipley was born in Lake Jackson, Texas on January 16, 1999.  He left this earth on Monday September 6, 2021, at the age of 22.

Ben was preceded in death by his Nanny, Doris Jean Shipley; his grandfather, James Allen Shipley; his sister, Kaitlyn Strother and his cousin Kyle Keith.

He leaves behind his Father, James Shipley, and his Stepmother, Maurine Shipley; his Mother, Shelly Burt and Stepfather Joseph Burt. Ben’s siblings include brothers Jacob Mitschki and Coby Mitschki, and stepsisters Samantha Burt and Camberon Kimball.  Benjamin’s Grandparents are Lamar and Diana Qualls and Russell and Sangrid Pancoast.  His Aunts and Uncles are James Qualls, John McCain, Russell Pancoast, Chris Pancoast, Cheryl Carman, Shay Gann and Samantha Owens, birthmother.  Benjamin’s heritage included the Tunica Biloxi Tribe.

Ben was easy to love and fun to be around!  He was passionate about music and was a talented guitarist and songwriter.  He loved his friends and treated them as part of his family. Ben enjoyed cooking, especially with his mom Shelly was often in the kitchen with her.  Memories of Thanksgivings in the kitchen will be sorely missed!  Ben’s “happy place” was with his small but tight circle of fun-loving friends or playing his guitar and singing.  His brothers, Jacob and Coby, were dear to him!

Memorial service will be Friday September 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at Chapelwood United Methodist Church 300 Willow Dr. Lake Jackson, Texas 77566
