Betty Lorriane Cleveland

Betty Lorriane Cleveland of Brazoria, Texas passed into the arms of Jesus on November 7, 2025, in Lake Jackson, Texas, at the age of 95. Betty is the daughter of the late Luke and Mary Lavinia Constantine Guidry. Betty’s mother passed away with tuberculosis in 1937. Her dad later married Annabell Dunn Guidry.

In 1954, Betty and her husband George moved to their new home in Brazoria. Betty was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria, Texas for 71 years. She first attended the Catholic Church in Old Town, Brazoria until the new building was built. She is preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, Luke & Lavinia, and step-mother, Annabell Guidry, along with numerous siblings and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Edna and brother-in-law, Kenny Patterson of Clear Lake, Texas, her sister-in-law Murna Guidry of West Columbia. her four sons, Guy Cleveland & wife Tammie of Brazoria, Dennis Cleveland & wife Nancy of West Columbia, George Cleveland, Jr., & wife Teri of Brazoria, David Spencer Cleveland of Richwood, and one daughter, Betty Bailey & husband Mike, of Brazoria. She is also survived by her grandchildren Shelley Fogle & husband Rusty of Sweeny, Bryan Cleveland & wife Mikki of West Columbia, Robby Cleveland & wife Silvia of Lake Jackson, Rhyon Larsen & wife Sara of Brazoria, Melissa Bowen & husband Zak of Lake Jackson, Lori Vann & husband Chris of Mauriceville, Texas, Rachel Penland of Brazoria, Amanda Weatherly and husband Reid of St. Petersburg, Florida, Dean Cleveland of Brazoria, and Aaron Bailey of Brazoria and her great-grandchildren Gavin Bowen, Rogan & Lilly Cleveland, Ruby & Gabe Cleveland, Kaden & Kolten Fogle, Regan & Rhiley Larsen, Maddison Penland and Chelsea & Caleb Vann.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday November 12th from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brazoria. Her rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tin Pham presiding. Interment will be in Brazoria Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Betty’s grandsons Aaron Bailey, Zak Bowen, Bryan Cleveland, Dean Cleveland, Robby Cleveland, Rhyon Larsen, & Chris Vann.
