Bettye Norton

Bettye June Norton, 84, of Brazoria passed from this life at her home on February 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ted and Mary Faye McDonald in Cameron on Dec. 19, 1934. She was married to the love of her life, Floyd Eugene Norton, for 55 years and reunited with her sweetie on Valentine's Day. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Shady Acres at 10 am with Pastors David Pate and John Price officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 6pm until 8 pm. Serving as pallbearers are Charles Vernor, Curtis Vernor, Shane Brown, Kelly Dvorak, Chris Simmons, Johnathan Diggs, Jeremy Norton, Brian Smith, Kerry Brenek, and Aaron Ramirez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Jackie Norton & wife, Gwen, Glenda Kay Vernor & husband, Ricki, Kathryn Harris & husband, Gene, Karla Eilbeck & husband, James; honorary sons, Don & Vernon Carter; grandchildren, Kerry Brenek & wife, Stacey, Jeremy Norton & wife, Candyce, Amber Smith & husband, Brian, Curtis Vernor & wife, Ani, Charles Vernor & wife, Karen, Kristie Ramirez & husband, Aaron, Shane Brown & wife, Kristina, Jennifer Harris, Tracy Dvorak & husband, Kelly, Stephanie Simmons & husband, Chris, Candace Diggs & husband, Johnathan; 29 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Norton, and sister and brother in law, Maribeth and Joe Kasinger.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Shady Acres or Gideon International.
