Beverly Ann Hunt, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Houston, TX, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 28, 1952, in Troy, NY to the late Marion (Chambers) and Harold P. Brown. Beverly's life was marked by immense love, dedication, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Over Beverly’s life she embarked on a number of rewarding career paths outside the home, most recently as an elementary school teacher and a licensed insurance agent. However, Bev’s lifelong career path was manifested most notably through her unending devotion to her family of seven children. She found joy and fulfilment in being the firm foundation of her family and creating a home where family could thrive. Beverly's husband Gary A. Hunt Sr., a U.S. Navy veteran, described her as a devoted partner who stood by his side through thick and thin. He fondly expressed, "She may not have signed on with the Military, but she served right beside me. Over our 53 years together, Bev created the bond that held the family together. She loved and was loved, and her anchor never failed through all of life’s storms.”
Beverly also possessed many collateral talents and interests that assisted her with supporting the family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking a variety of meals for her family, crocheting intricate pieces, and spending some quiet time tending to her garden. Her creativity was varied and immeasurable.
In addition to Gary Sr., Beverly is survived by her children: Gary A. Hunt Jr. (Jennifer), Marcia Hunt, Jeffrey Hunt (Sara), Brittney Hunt, Matthew Hunt (Allyson), Daniel Hunt (Niki) and Ashley Hunt; Bev’s siblings: Carol Gaines (Michael), William Brown (Betty), Diane VanVaulkenberg (Gene), Nancy Fischer (Chris), along with eight adoring grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Diegel (Mel) and Paul Brown (Julie).
Family gatherings will never be the same without Beverly's indomitable presence. Her legacy of unconditional love and unwavering strength will continue to inspire all those whose lives she has touched. Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (KJV).
A visitation will be held on April 13th at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at the same location beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia at about 11:00 AM after the service.
