It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Jean (Wallace) Wells. Also known as Bev, Mom, Nana, Aunt, Bebe, Guardian Angel and even Boss Lady.
Beverly passed away at her home on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 88. Up until the end, Beverly maintained her kindness, compassion, and love of family and friends and her faith in Jesus Christ.
Beverly's life can be best described by these 7 words:
Family, Friends, Faith, Fun, Freedom, Flowers & Food.
in her 88 years she experienced an abundance of each.
Family, Friends & Fun:
In her early years, Beverly spent most of her time in Sweeny, Texas, where she lived with her mom, dad & sister - while in school she grew to love the band, was a twirler and a drum major for the Sweeny Bulldog Band. Beverly loved talking about all the great memories she had including her girlfriend group that named themselves, "The Dirty Dozen." Then she met the love of her life, Gary Irl Wells, and they were married in 1958 and have been married for 68 years. She then became an avid Aggie fan where she and Gary always looked forward to the Aggie Football games and she even encouraged the grandkids to be Aggies - Gigem'
The raised two children - Gary Glenn and Vange, both of Sweeny, Texas. The family made yearly trips to the Frio River and snow skiing in Colorado - all with friends and family.
The "icing of the cake" were her grandchildren - Garrison, Brianna, Chelsie, Dylan & Brittany.
Beverly loved her new role and then she became the "Nana" that every grandchild deserves. She helped with babysitting, birthday parties, attending ball games, school performances and she was involved anytime anything was going on with them - whether good or bad!
She loved her great grandchildren - they were the joy of her life!
Alanna, Kimber, Lola, Cooper, Graham, Lane, Dawson & Brynley.
She knew every birthday and was always sure to send a gift or card - of course with Money!
In her later years, she was in a girlfriends group called, "The Good to Go Girls," which included her sister Dianne (Aunt Di-Di), Vera, Sue and Joann. They were always on the, "Go," and known for being on the phone like teenagers till 1:00 in the morning. Beverly loved playing cards with the girls but she was very competitive - she did not like losing!
She cherished her friendships developing them at each stage of her life with most lasting the rest of her life. At the time of her passing, she still had friendships that developed as a young child. Beverly was known for her gift giving, card sending, was always a great encourager, a peacemaker, a problem solver - with one friend calling her, "Her guardian Angel."
Freedom: Beverly was always well-informed about politics - she enjoyed discussing, analyzing and defending her views often to persuade others. She was possibly a "Political Junkie," but we can say she loved her politics.
Flowers: Beverly was a creative, business savvy individual - being that she and Gary owned a florist - she was well-known in the floral industry handling anything from weddings to funerals and everything that comes along with owning a florist. She even loved preparing her taxes each year.
Food: Beverly prioritized pleasure and joy by tackling the "best things first," and this included her "Nutty Fudge Love Chocolate Candies." She would always have dessert first most meal settings.
Faith: Beverly was a member of the Sweeny Church of Christ and was always spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, whether in a subtle way or voicing her beliefs on how the Bible reads - she was a believer of Jesus Christ and wanted everyone to have the opportunity of hearing God's Word. Being God's child, she has now gone home, where there will be no pain, no sorrow, no tears - we, her family and friends, will miss her dearly, but feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. She will live on in our hearts forever.
To her caretakers - Leona, Jeanette, Thelma, Mary & Eva - Thank you so much for your dedication, patience, and compassion and just for being our mom's friend. There are no words that are enough to say how much we appreciate you all. You all have been such an important part of our lives - you have given us peace of mind knowing that Bev (Mom) was always in such caring hands. To our Dad - Thank you for loving and taking such good care of our Mom - WE will be forever grateful to you!
We also want to mention Gentiva Hospice Team. Your team was caring, compassionate and never just rushed in and rushed out. You always spent time with us and our mom. Thank you!
Mom - We will miss you immensely. You were our, "Go To," when life got rough - you were our comfort when we needed clarity - you were always someone we could count on and we were never judged - you provided us sound advice - you always made sure we made our decisions after thinking things through - most importantly of all, you made sure we knew "Our Savior."
Didn't we have Great Times!
We love you, Mom!
Love, Gary Glenn & Vange
