Bill Wanek

Bill Wanek, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022, in Henderson, TX. Bill was born in Rosenberg, TX, to parents W.B. & Eva (Kaminski) Wanek, but considered Weszt Columbia his hometown.

He is survived by his son DaWane Wanek and daughter-in-law Kellie McMaster, grandson Thomas Wanek, nephews Don, Ron, and Ricky Bertman, and his beloved friend Diane Trobaugh and her family.

He was preceded in death by parents, wife Eunice (Meyers) Wanek, brother Alfred Wanek, and his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Ernest Bertman.

Bill had many jobs throughout his career but was always fond of his role as his hometown’s TV repairman. Bill was also very proud of his military service, keeping in touch with his fellow servicemen over the decades. Bill will be remembered fondly for his love of food and great sense of humor.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, in the Chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, West Columbia. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery.
