Bonnie Schrader Blue

Bonnie Schrader Blue, 74, of Sweeny, Texas passed away December 28, 2021.  Bonnie was born February 13, 1947, in Bay City, Texas to the late Grover and Helen Coleman. Bonnie graduated from Sweeny High School and attended Wharton County Junior College. She continued her education by pursuing an accounting degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake, proudly worked in the space industry, and retired as an auditor for the State of Texas. Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband Monroe Schrader of 40 years. They settled in League City, Texas to raise their children. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Tiana Hatthorn, her husband Gordon and their two children Tyler and Amelia. She is survived by her son Rick Schrader, wife Corrie and their three children Caroline, Charlotte, and Gavin. Bonnie is also survived by her sister Linda Smith, her husband Keith, brother-in-law Nick Schrader, his wife Rhonda, brother-in-law Randy Schrader, his wife Lisa, brother-in-law Marcus, his wife Stacey and was preceded in death by sister-in-law Markie Russell and her husband Carl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie later remarried and is survived by Bill Blue and his children Jason Blue, his wife Laurel, Matt Blue, Krista Friemel, and her husband Todd.  She is also survived by step grandchildren Braxton, Boulan, Savanah, Hailey, and Kiah.

Bonnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and was absolutely their biggest fan in all their endeavors. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and crafting. She also greatly loved her cat, Thomas. Bonnie was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Bonnie’s family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at C.T. Baker & sons Funeral Home in West Columbia.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, 207 E 1st Street, Sweeny, Texas with Pastor Quinn Peters officiating. A graveside gathering will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas at 4:00PM.
