Candelario Gutierrez, Sr.

Candelario P.Gutierrez Sr., 95, of Sweeny passed into heaven on Nov. 21, 2016 in Sugar Land. He was born to Alfonso & Claudia Gutierrez in Sweeny on Nov. 15, 1921.
Candelario had a strong faith in the Lord. He was an original parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and was a faithful Christian man who loved his family very much. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 years, Dominga; sons, Eddie Gutierrez and Candelario Gutierrez Jr. & wife, Rose; daughters, Patty Perez & husband, Felix and Paula Garza & husband, Alex; brothers, Tilo Gutierrez & Rodrigo Gutierrez & wife, Virginia; sisters, Andrea Sanchez and Ignacia Barrientez; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Herlinda Ramirez; brothers, Simon, Joe, Leon & Margarito Gutierrez; sister, Ruth Ordonez.

A funeral mass will be recited on Sat. Nov. 26, 2016 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sweeny. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
