Charles Richards Jr.

Charles A. Richards Jr., 87, of Sweeny passed away in Angleton on June 7, 2018. He was born in Eunice, Louisiana on Aug. 14, 1930 to Charles A. & Ida Duplechain Richards.
Charles served in the U S Navy during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy he attended Wharton County Junior College and then got his degree from Texas A & M. He was married to the love of his life, Glinda Powers in 1954. Charles worked for Brazoria County Road & Bridge Dept for 10 years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Sweeny with John Price officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time also at the church. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Paige, Doug McClure, Greg Pierce, Cory Pierce, Peyton Pierce and Mike Orr.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Charles' name to First United Methodist Church in Sweeny.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Renee Pierce & husband, Ray and Tom Richards; brother, George Richards; grandsons, Greg Pierce & Cory Pierce & wife, Jessalyn; great grandson, Peyton Pierce; great granddaughter, Paisley Pierce. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glinda Powers Richards, brother, Clyde Richards; and sisters, Shirley Little and Gloria Landry.
