Charles West

Charles Allen West was born February 18, 1944 in Freeport, Texas to Charlie Edward West and Ruby Leona Champion West, and died on October 25, 2018 at his home in Wild Peach, Texas.
His early years were spent in Velasco, Texas; the family moved to Wild Peach in the early 1950's, where Allen lived for the remainder of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruby West, his brother, Leon West, and his nephew, Dustin West.
Allen is survived by his brother, Carlos West, nephew Blake West & wife, Michelle, Ede McAbee (widow of Dustin) and husband, Jay McAbee, sister in law Karen West, and grand-nieces Miriam, Raimie, Sophie and Esme West, good friend Connie Brugman, and the Ice House regulars.
Allen graduated from Columbia High School and then served in the National Guard. He worked as a pipefitter/welder.
Allen loved to hunt and fish and work in the garden. Family and friends shared in the bounty of fresh vegetables he grew every year.
He enjoyed his cows and his cats and dogs that he spoiled with home cooking.
Allen will be buried in a private family service beside family
