Charlotte Rylander Blount

Charlotte Lee Rylander Blount, 70, of West Columbia, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

She was born in West Columbia on November 1, 1950, to the late Charles Lloyd and Nettie Sue Rylander. Charlotte was a graduate of Columbia High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross State University. She was a teacher at Columbia-Brazoria ISD, where she impacted the lives of countless children for 28 years. Charlotte was a lifelong member of the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Daughters of the King. She loved traveling the state of Texas to watch R.M. coach high school football, cooking for her family, and she especially enjoyed loving and taking care of Mike. Charlotte was known and will be remembered for her gentle kindness and loving heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Lloyd and Nettie Sue Rylander. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Michael (Mike) Blount; her children Brandi Blount, Jennifer Schill and husband Adam, and R.M. Blount and wife Michelle; her grandchildren Justin Hussey and wife Hannah, Megan Hussey, Hunter Weisinger, Brayze Schill, Braylee Schill, Reagan Blount, and Kohen Blount; five great grandchildren; her brother Chuck Rylander and wife Kendall; her beloved dog Chrissie; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation with friends and loved ones will be Monday, September 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 201 E Clay St., in West Columbia, with The Reverend Paul Wehner officiating.  Interment will follow in Old Columbia Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Justin Hussey, Brayze Schill, Kohen Blount, Hunter Weisinger, and Adam Schill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St Mary’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.

The family suggests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask.
