Clara Hoot

Clara Amalie Surovcak Hoot, 94, of Brazoria, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born November 29, 1927, in Frydek, Texas to the late Annie Rosie (Kutra) and Josef Richard Surovcak.

Clara loved to deer hunt and grew beautiful flowers in her yard. She especially loved her Bluebonnets.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Burl Hoot, son Dale Wayne Hoot, parents Josef and Annie Surovcak, brothers Frank and Josef Surovcak, sisters Lillie McNair, Bertha Sanders, and Mary Masaryk.

She is survived by her children Betty Marie Peters, James Earl Hoot, Gail Hoffman and husband Grant, Burl David Hoot and wife Judy, Larry Dean Hoot and wife Kathy and Donna Fay Sanchez; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia with a Rosary to be Recited at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 219 County Rd 762, Brazoria, with Rev. Tin Pham officiating. Interment will follow in Brazoria Cemetery.
