Clarence Macik

Clarence Daniel (Sarge) Macik, 84, of Brazoria, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018. He was born on June 7, 1934 in Damon, Texas to Frank and Frances (Volek) Macik, and was baptized and confirmed at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Damon, Texas. Clarence attended school in West Columbia and served in the military in Germany. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 350 in Needville. Clarence worked in Freeport until a stroke caused him to retire.

The family will be receiving friends Friday, October 12, 2018 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am Friday, October 12, 2018 at Damon Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Petter, Alton Petter, Jim Petter, Randy Macik, Clayton Harvey, David Harvey, Steve Hipp, Greg Schmidt, and Shay Dorsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherrie Schmidt and Sheila Dorsey.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Macik and Frank J. Macik, Jr.; sister, Martha and husband, Albert Petter; brother-in-law, Dorman Hipp; and nephews, Albert (Sonny) Petter, Chris Petter, and Donald Harvey.

Clarence is survived by his sister, Helen Macik Hipp, sister-in-law, Caroline Macik; nieces and nephews, Ronald and Nellwyn Petter, Alton Petter, Jim and Heather Petter, Randy and Caren Macik, Sherrie and Greg Schmidt, Clayton Harvey, David and Ann Harvey, Steve Hipp, and Sheila and Shay Dorsey; along with many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He always had a Dr. Pepper for them and a snack when they came to the river house.

Sincere "thanks" to Randy and Caren Macik for taking over the care of Clarence after Frank passed away. The family wishes to sincerely thank the VA Hospital and the Hospice Care and staff at Cypress Woods.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clarence's name to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Damon.
