Cynthia Diane “Cindy” Jacobs passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on June 15, 1953, in Bay City, Texas, Cindy lived a life defined by resilience, compassion, and fierce independence.
She was the devoted mother of Robert Jacobs and his wife Lacy of Wimberley, Texas, and Chris Jacobs and his wife Jennifer of Sweeny, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of Blythe Jacobs, whom she loved more than anything in the world. Cindy also welcomed and cared deeply for the extended family of Chris, including Karley and her son Weston, and Kolby, all of whom she considered her own.
Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Clyde Jacobs, who passed away in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Helen “Bo” Hammond and Eugene Hammond, and her brother Gary Hammond. She is survived by her brother Russell Hammond of Sweeny.
She also held a special place in her heart for her nephew Kenny Hammond, his wife Brittani, and their son Landon. Cindy loved Kenny dearly and cherished the deep connection they shared throughout her life.
Cindy was the strongest woman her family and friends knew. Fiercely independent and incredibly capable, there was nothing she couldn’t do. Whether it was fixing something around the house, offering wise advice, or supporting others through hard times, she faced every challenge head-on and never backed down. She didn’t wait for help, she was the help. Those who knew her admired her determination, self-reliance, and tireless spirit.
She lived with integrity and purpose, guided by a deep sense of loyalty and compassion. She would stop everything to be there for someone in need, and she did it without hesitation or expectation. Her strength wasn’t loud, it was steady, enduring, and woven into every part of her life.
Cindy found joy in the small, meaningful moments, laughing with loved ones, tending to her garden, caring for others, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She had a sharp wit, a warm heart, and a presence that made people feel safe and seen.
Her legacy is one of unwavering love, strength, and selfless devotion. Her family will forever carry her spirit, drawing from the example she set and the love she gave so freely.
