Deborah Ann (Danford) Rabe, born on July 25, 1954, in Freeport, Texas, lived her life with joy, love, and an open heart. On November 9, 2025, in Houston, Texas, Deborah completed her earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and a zest for life that will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
For over 25 years, Deborah faithfully served Brazoria County Precinct #1, where she was not only a respected colleague but also a true friend to many. Her work reflected her spirit—loyal, sincere, and full of life.
Deborah’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her children, Amanda Rabe and Kenneth John (K.J.) Rabe, both of West Columbia; her brother Kenneth (Gwen) Danford of Brazoria; sisters-in-law Janice (Gary) Bowers of Brazoria and Ginger Danford of West Columbia; and brother-in-law Bob Burk of Burton. She also leaves behind her adoring nieces and nephews—James (Lori) Shanks, Debbie Holden, Bobby (Debra) Fielden Jr., Deanna (Jason) Martin, Chad (Jennifer) Burk, Melinda Danford, Veronica Eichman, Jacob (Stephanie) Bowers, and Aaron (Jessica) Bowers—as well as a host of beloved great- and great-great-nieces and nephews who will always cherish the fun times spent at Aunt Debbie’s.
Deborah is now reunited with her beloved husband of 31 years, John William Rabe; her parents, Lily (Koester) Danford and Earl Danford Sr.; her in-laws, Rodger and Robbie Rabe; her brother, Earl Danford Jr.; her sisters, Doris Burk and “Ruth” Lavern Amason; her brother-in-law, Billy Amason; and her nephews, Mark and Mike Danford, who all surely welcomed her with open arms.
Those who knew Deborah will remember her as someone who truly lived. She had a soft spot for country music and could never resist a good two-step with the love of her life. The beach was her haven—she would slip on her favorite swimsuit and walk for hours, collecting sand dollars. She loved the brightness of a full moon and never hesitated to pull anyone nearby outside to enjoy it with her.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held Saturday, November 15, at C.T. Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia. Friends are invited to visit from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon, officiated by Rev. Ashley Isaacs. Interment will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.
Deborah’s light, laughter, and love will continue to guide and comfort all who knew her. Though she has taken her final dance beneath the moon she loved so much, she is now dancing in heaven with her J.R. and those she held dear.
