Domingo Vega

March 8, 1953 — April 28, 2021

Domingo Vega, 68 of Damon, TX. passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2021. He was born March 8, 1953 in Gonzales, TX. to Ramon and Victoria Vega. Mingo, as everyone knew him by, lived in Damon his whole life. He worked in the oil fields behind the Damon Mound and later drove for Daily Truck Lines out of Damon in his younger years. Later he went to work for M&M Well Service out of West Columbia hauling oil field equipment. This led to him going to work for the City of West Columbia, where he operated the backhoe and later would become supervisor. After a short 25+ years of service, Mingo took an early retirement from the City of West Columbia. Mingo enjoyed growing his garden and sharing the vegetables that came out of it. He especially loved riding his motorcycle and making new friends along his rides.

Mingo is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 30 years Santa Elena; brothers; Manuel Vega, Raymond Vega, Philip Vega, Pete Vega, Lupe Vega, and Fidel Contreras; sisters; Mary Bertrand and Josie Eversole.

He is survived by his children: Manuel Lee Vega of Damon, TX, Amanda Lynn Vega (Jeffery Nance) of Damon, TX, Chris Barrios (Lisa) of Clute, TX, Mary Vega (Chris) of Damon, TX, Andy Guajardo of Damon, TX; sisters: Patsy Marin of Blessing, Janie Vega of Damon, TX, Betty Flisowski (Donny) of Somerville, TX; brothers, Jesse Vega of Damon, TX and Victor Vega of Alvin, TX; grandkids: Andrea and Alex Barrios, Tony Casas, Chris and Marcus Vega, Jacob and Zaven Hoffman, Kristopher and Hendrix Vega; great grandkids: Evelyn Vega, Emma Casas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Pete Vega, Greg Jakubec, William Eversole, Buster Eversole, Joe Vega, Kenny Bobbitt, Adam Eversole and Chris Vega.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. An invitation is extended to the West of the Brazos for a meal after the service.

A visitation with family and loved ones will be held Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX.

Interment will follow in Damon Catholic Cemetery in Damon, Texas.
