Doris Thompson

Doris C. Thompson was born in Belleville, Illinois on February 7, 1925. She died on May 12, 2017 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of Joseph & Elsie
(Givenrod) Petri and she graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1943.

Doris married John C. Thompson, Jr. in 1945, a marriage that lasted 59 years, until his passing in 2004. They had 1 daughter, Trudy Halvorson. Doris excelled at her job as a stay at home Mom and homemaker. After John's retirement, they made their home in Columbia Lakes, West Columbia, Texas, where they spent a lot of time on the golf course and socializing with their neighbors.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents. She is survived by her only daughter and her husband, Trudy and Scott Halvorson; grandchildren, Michelle Brinks of Sugar Land and Brad Sanders of Houston. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by her entire family and many close friends and neighbors.

A memorial service, celebrating her life, will be held 11:00am, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in East Columbia, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 817, West Columbia, Texas 77486.
