Douglas Strother Sr.

Douglas William Strother,79, of Brazoria passed from this life on Dec. 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana on June 7, 1939 to Hares & Lula Strother.

Douglas loved hunting, fishing, and large family get togethers. He was a deacon and song leader at Brigance Road Baptist Church for many years. His greatest love was his family. He will be greatly missed .

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria with Floyd Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Colonial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Emily Marie Keller & husband, Steve, Douglas William Strother Jr. & wife, Sally, Calvin Warren Strother & wife, Tammy, and Donald Wade Strother; brothers, Everett Strother, Clifford Strother, & William Strother; sisters, Lue Ellen Bergen & Patsy Thompson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Richard), Crystal (Thomas), Nicole, Ashley, Eric (Amy), & Dillon(Kayla), Clayton; 13 great grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hares & Lula Strother; brothers, David, Almer, & Fletcher Strother; sisters, Annette Close , Orah Bell Mears & Lavern Burt.
