Eddie Durham

Eddie Glyn Durham, age 83, of Brazoria, Texas passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was born January 19, 1938 to Oswald and Lois Durham in Thornton, Texas.  He attended Thornton High School and married his High School Sweetheart, JoAnn Truitt on October 11, 1957.  Eventually they relocated to Brazoria County and built a home in Wild Peach, where they raised their three children, Susan (Tim Moses) of Brazoria Tx, Kathy (Duane Hammack) of Angleton Tx and Mark (Heidi Horn/Durham) of Buda, Tx.  Eddie had one brother, James Durham (Eveline) of Brazoria Tx, and a sister, Patsy Belk of Ennis Tx .

He enjoyed the honor of being Grandpa to six grandsons, Aaron Moses (Gracie) of New Braunfels, Tx and their eight children, Taylor Hammack (Bailey) of Danbury, Tx and their two children, Mackenzie Hammack (Megan) of Angleton, Tx and their three children, Zachary Moses of Nashville, TN, Mathew Durham (Mariana) of Clute, Tx and Mason Durham of Buda, Tx. He was a long-time member of Brigance Road Baptist Church and later of First Baptist Church of Brazoria.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the numerous friends and neighbors for their many prayers and support.  Eddie will forever be a legend and a testament of hard work and faith to his family.

A viewing will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Tx on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm.  Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Brazoria at 10am Thursday, June 24, 2021.  Burial will be at Cobb Cemetery, Thornton, Tx on Thursday at 4:30pm, June 24, 2021.
