Obituary

Funeral Mass for Edward Henry Stavinoha, age 84, of Sargent, Texas Matagorda County will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 219 CR 762, Brazoria, Texas 77422 with Father Tin officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM and the Rosary will follow at 9:30 AM. All services will be held at the St Joseph Catholic Church. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Henrietta Stavinoha.

He was born October 25, 1941, in Richmond, Texas. Edward graduated from Needville High School and served his country by joining the United States Navy for four years.

On November 14,1964 he married Joan Smith of Pensacola, Florida. Edward worked for WKM in Missouri City, Texas for 19 ½ years as well as Oil Field Manufacturing (OFM) in Santa Fe, Texas until his retirement April 29, 2005. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2801 for 50 years. Edward was also on the Board of Directors for Caney Creek Estates in Sargent and the Treasure of East Matagorda Foundation in Sargent.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Leslie Joan Stavinoha; two sons, Donald Stavinoha and wife, Marti and Scott Stavinoha and wife, Valarie as well as other relatives and friends.
