Eleanor Hanson

Eleanor Ann Hanson, age 88, of Houston, TX passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021. Eleanor (Ellie), the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille H. Simonton, was born in Massachusetts on March 31, 1933. She married R. Lynn Hanson of West Columbia, TX in 1954 and treasured her 59 years of marriage and her children. She is survived by daughters, Kim (Tim), Kris (Pat), Kara (Al) and son, Walter (Michelle) along with (6) grandchildren; Melissa, Katie, Kristen (Adam), Shannon, Chad, Conner, and 1 great grandchild, Emma, sister-in-law Polly Rowold, nieces Karen Mostyn (Buddy) and Sue Meissner, and nephew Randy Rowold (Charlotte). Ellie was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, her sister Lura Masters, and niece Ruth Daw

Ellie spent most of her adult life in Houston, TX and was very active with her church and community. She served on VIPS for HISD and taught preschool. Ellie was a member of the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution. Ellie loved her family dearly and she will be greatly missed by all.

Graveside services will be held at Old Columbia Cemetery, West Columbia Tx at 10AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Rev. T. Paul Kethley officiating.
