Ella Cothron

Ella Mae DeReese Cothron, 80, of West Columbia, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at UTMB Hospital, Jennie Sealy Building in Galveston, Texas. She was born November 1, 1940, in Orange Grove, Texas to Minnie (Ludecke) and Fritz DeReese.

Ella Mae was a mail carrier for over 30 years in Sweeny and worked the front gate at Columbia Lakes for 12 years.

Ella Mae graduated from Tidehaven High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Clarence Elbert Cothron.

Ella Mae is survived by her sons John Cothron and wife Michele and Mark Cothron and fiancé Brandi; grandson Johnathon Cothron; sister Myrtle Feldhousen and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in the chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX., with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Price officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery.
