Ella Bertha Summers, 101, went home to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Allen, Texas. She was born in the farmhouse in which she would be raised on September 18, 1920, in Ganado, Texas to Paul and Caroline Galow.

Ella graduated from Ganado High School.  She was raised in St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweeny, and Heights Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas. She enjoyed homemaking, sewing, quilting, tennis, softball, and fishing.  She belonged to the Sweeny Civic Club, the Sweeny and Brazoria Chapters of the Eastern Star and once held an appointment from the Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star of Texas.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband Wynn Summers, parents Paul and Caroline Galow, brother Bennie and sister Gertrude and her daughter-in-law Teresa Summers.

She is survived by her sons Michael Summers and wife Judith and Dennis Summers, granddaughter Joanna Carter and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Ella will be Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Sweeny Cemetery, with Pastor John Price officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Scottish Rite Shriners, 5700 Dallas Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75034.
