Eunice Hagen

October 21, 1938 — September 4, 2020

Brazoria

Eunice Hagen, 81, cherished mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on September 4, 2020.  She entered this world on October 21, 1938 in Houston, Texas, born to Gus & Beatrice Turk.  Eunice grew up in Brazoria and lived there for the entirety of her life.  She remained a shining example of faithfulness and commitment to her husband, Charles, throughout their sixty years of marriage, starting on February 18, 1956.  She was the middle of seven sisters, who taught each of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the importance of family with holiday gatherings, camping trips, and Sunday afternoon softball games.  Eunice enjoyed bragging to her visitors about her children, and especially her grandkids, while remaining a constant assurance that she was proud of them and they could accomplish great things.  She spent many years baking cakes for special occasions and birthdays, always making those close to her feel special.  She reminded her kids to pray, love one another, and to work hard because it will pay off.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, September 10, 2020 at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia. The family will be receiving friends from 1:30 pm until service time. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Dunlap, Caleb Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Kevin Hartney, Josh Tielke, and Chase Whitt.

Preceded to heaven by her parents, Gus and Beatrice Bell Turk, and husband, Charles Martin Hagen Sr. She now rests with them in God’s presence.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Karen Whitt and husband Scott, with grandchildren Chase and Lacey; daughter, Darlene Tielke and husband Jody, with grandson Josh; son, Charles Hagen Jr. and wife Shelly, with grandchildren McCall, Caleb, and Matthew; sisters, Dora Picha, Martha Gaas, Myra Russell, Faye Kirkpatrick, Bell Jowell James, and Brenda Thornton; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
