Floyd David Randle was born on September 19, 1963, to LeRoy and Lula (Thompson) Randle in Edna, Texas. Floyd was a happy, active child and enjoyed playing with his brothers and teasing his sisters. Floyd loved his family and was profoundly grateful for the sacrifices his mother made to keep the family together. He took every opportunity to show his mother love, and that she would always be “Mama". Floyd was raised in Edna and attended Ganado Independent School District. Floyd participated in sports throughout school. Especially track and football. He excelled at both. After graduating from Ganado High School in 1982, Floyd obtained his Commercial Driver’s Licenses and began his career as a professional truck driver. Floyd was a skilled driver. He worked for several major trucking companies. He later owned and operated his 18-wheeler as a contractor. Being a truck driver was a perfect fit for Floyd. Driving and being on the road gave him time to meditate and reflect. It provided him the opportunity to travel all over the USA, to see the majestic sights created by God, and meet the people God placed in his path on this journey called life.
Floyd met Denise Gipson, of Refugio, TX. Their friendship blossomed into love. On July 17, 1999, they were married. To this union no children were born. He was blessed to be part of the village who helped raise a host of nieces and nephews. They provided a home, love, and support to many, but Floyd became “Pawpaw” to Amonie, Anaysha, and Alex who held a special place in his heart.
Floyd enjoyed family gatherings and often hosted spontaneous bar-b-que parties under their covered carport. According to Floyd, he was an excellent “grill master.” He loved people and enjoyed making them laugh. He was a very loving, caring, and giving man.
On August 28, 2025, the Lord called Floyd home after a prolonged illness. Floyd's father, LeRoy Randle, and his sisters Sandra "San" Bollock and Linda Boyd preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Lula Randle, his wife, Denise Randle, his son, Tyrese Lee, nine brothers: James (Vanessa) Lawson, Wayne (Glenda)Lawson, Douglas Lawson, Curtis (Shirley) Randle, Ricky Lawson, Gary (Carolyn) Randle, Bobby Dale (Lois) Brown, Rogers Brown, and LeRoy Brown. Three grandchildren: Tj Lee, Te’Niyah Lee, and Travon Lee, as well as a host of relatives and friends. Floyd loved and was loved. His life has truly left fingerprints on the hearts of many.
