Fran "Chuggie" King

Fran (Chuggie) A. Weems King went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 30, 2023 with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Jack and Phyllis Weems, November 16, 1943, in West Columbia, Texas where she grew up and graduated from Columbia High School. Fran was married to Jack King and was the mother to Robin Hail and husband, Michael, Amy Patterson and husband, Todd; stepchildren, Chloe Greuel and JJ King; grandchildren, Meredith Dietrich and husband, Justin, Jordan Hail and wife, Emily, Darian Schmeltekopf and husband, Eric, Emily Conner and husband, Billy, MacKenzie Moncure and husband, Cody, Madeleine Howell and husband, Jonathan, Zachary King, and Alana Sawyer and husband, Wesley, and eleven great grandchildren.

Fran is also survived by her sister, Mary Hill and brother, Steve Weems and his wife, Rhonda, along with her lifelong friend, Ellen Clayton. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Jenkins and husband Harry, and sister, Margo Giese and husband, Louie.

Baking and antiquing were among her favorite pastimes, but spending time with her family was her greatest joy. She never missed an opportunity to make her loved ones feel important and special. She will be missed immensely.

The Celebration of Life for Fran will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Drive, West Columbia, TX 77486 at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that we each consider carrying out a random act of kindness to honor her memory.
