Frank Garland Bruce passed away in the comfort of his home on July 26, 2026.  Frank was born to Frank George Bruce and Mable Katie Bruce on March 23, 1935, on the bank of the Dugdemona river in Rochelle, Louisiana.  Frank worked for 40 years to the day for Phillips Petroleum to provide a good living for his family before retiring.  He volunteered his time to his community and Brazoria County as a deputy sheriff from the early 70's to the late 80's where he was promoted captain for the last several years.  After leaving the sheriff's department, he continued to serve as a deputy constable for Precinct 4 under Joe Lingo for several more years.  He was a member of the board of directors at Old Ocean FC4 for 20 plus years, past master Mason several times at St. John's Lodge #5 in West Columbia, and worthy patron for the Order of the Eastern Star on more than one occasion.

He found joy and happiness in his family and extended family.  He loved to hunt, fish and play golf when he got the chance and loved working in his garden.  He always had a smile on his face and would help just about anyone if he thought he could.  His life was well-lived, and he was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank George Bruce, his mother, Mable Katie Bruce, his wife of 68 years, Ada Louise and oldest son, Garland Michael.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Gregory (wife Rhonda) and Jeffrey Glenn, the bonus daughter he always wanted, Marsha Guillott McBride and bonus son Ricky Weilnau.

Heaven just gained an angel.  Rest easy and thank you for being on hell of a man.
