Frederick Jacob “Fritz” Wilke, 83, of West Columbia, passed away at home on May 26th, 2021. He was born in West Columbia, TX on September 9th, 1937 to Fritz Wilke and Florence Ann (Kilsby) Wilke.
Fritz had a long career as a plant worker before retiring from BASF. He enjoyed farm animals, playing Santa Claus at Christmas, and barbequing. Known as “Uncle Sonny” to many, Fritz served as a role model and positive influence, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He also was a devout Christian who believed in the power of Jesus to save.
Fritz was the loving husband of Audna Gail (Fambrough) Wilke, caring father of Judy Ann (Wilke) Brake, and dedicated brother to Carolyn Ann Bailey, all of whom preceded him in passing.
He is survived by three siblings; Charlotte Broussard, Dean Wilke, husband of Margaret, and Ethelyn Kingston. He is also survived by his daughter, Brenda Gail Wilke; Granddaughter, Jacey Deniece (Brake) Updegrove, daughter of Judy; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A viewing will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest cemetery in West Columbia, Texas.
