Gladys Ann Hoffman

Gladys Ann Hoffman, born on January 28, 1934, in Iago, Texas, passed away peacefully at home in West Columbia, Texas, on May 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was a beloved matriarch who dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating cherished memories with her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Gladys demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family, which she considered her proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her children, Glenn Hoffman, Doyle Hoffman and his wife Colleen, Joyce Horsley, Debra Hoffman, and Dorothy O'Grady and her husband Shaun. Additionally, she leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life and a source of immense joy.

Gladys's early years were marked by exemplary resilience and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred Hoffman, along with her parents, Maud Elizabeth (Poor) and Frank Harvey Richardson. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Charlie, Earl, Frank, John, Hubert, Walter, Hardy, Minnie Brooks, and an infant child, all of whom held  a special place in her heart. 

In her later years, Gladys found delight in the simple pleasures of life, often spending time watching the birds, squirrels, and the vibrant flowers in her garden from the comfort of her window. Her keen appreciation for nature and her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

A visitation will be held on June 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. with Pastor John Price officiating.  Both events will take place at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas. Gladys will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas, on June 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Gladys Ann Hoffman will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, and her legacy of love will continue to thrive through the generations she cherished.
