Gloria Hudgeons

Gloria Ann Hudgeons, 74, of Brazoria, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 29, 2017 after a brave battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was a resident of Brazoria County her whole life. She was born in Rosenberg, grew up in Fairchild, Needville, Velasco and Lake Jackson and once married moved to Angleton and then Brazoria where she's lived ever since.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Jolly Roger of 55 years; children Donette, Randy (Deanna) and Jolene (Lucas); grandchildren Nathan, Shelby, Hannah, Logan and Jordan; her mother Bertha Hruby; brother, Greg Hruby; Foster Sister, Evette Fox (Elroy) and children Scotty and Taylor, also, all the numerous family and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father Alphonse Vacek, stepfather Edmund Hruby and beloved father and mother-in-law Sam and Sophie Hudgeons.

Gloria retired from CBISD after 16+ years of service as a Teacher's Aide. She was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and was involved in many church activities and organizations. Namely, the Altar Society and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters Court #2289 for 30+ years. She was a proud member of the Beta Sigma Phi Exemplar Chapter, Xi Tau Tau #X5113 for 39 years. Lastly, she was a member of the Texas Extension Education and Brazoria Achievers EE Club, and a lifetime member of KJZT #49.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brazoria on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm; with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.
