Gloria Sherrill

Gloria Ellen Sherrill, 90 of West Columbia, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was born on October 4, 1927 in West Columbia, Texas to Herman and Gussie Blair. Gloria was Valedictorian of both her high school and college. She attended Southwest Texas Teachers College after high school and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology. She stayed in West Columbia raising her three kids. Afterwards and for many years she worked at Jenn's Furniture Store and stayed active in the local community. She started traveling the world and traveled up to her early 80s. She had a passion for playing bridge with the ladies in West Columbia, painting, and being a seamstress. Her life was devoted to her family and the values she imparted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are her lasting legacy.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Columbia United Methodist Church in West Columbia with Paul Kethley officiating.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Gregg M Sherrill and wife, Sabine and James Blair Sherrill and wife, Debbie; daughter, Mary Ellen Sherrill; brother, Ronald Senf Blair; grandchildren, Kimberly, Bethany, Katie, Lindsey, Casey, Kevin, and Tyler; 12 great-grandchildren; along with grand-dog, Joey.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
