Hazel Dacke

February 4, 1927 — February 9, 2018

Hazel Marie Dacke went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2018 at the age of 91.

Hazel was born on February 4, 1927 in Oklahoma, moved to Matagorda County as a child, and lived in Brazoria County most of her life.

She loved traveling by RV all over the U. S. with her husband, Wayne Dacke and extended family. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook, an artist, had a great sense of humor and played a mountain dulcimer. Hazel and Wayne built several homes together and she was proud to work by his side with him to complete them.

Mom was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a special place in her heart for young children.

Hazel is survived by her daughters: Donna Jackson, Connie Davis and husband Brad, and Brenda Lowenstein; granddaughters: Stephanie Krenek, Kelly Cameron, Nikki Bradford and Jill Brozek; grandsons: Nathan Davis, Lathon Gardovsky, and Andrew Cloy; sisters: Orangie Kelley and Grace Beaty; brother in law Charles Dacke; sister in law Joyce Dacke; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; along with special neighbors and friends: Hector and Martha Garza and Davie McCaskill.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Dacke; mother, Lucy Morphew; and sisters, Mamie Murphy and Ruby Weldon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Brazoria at 11:00 am with Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:2-3
