Funeral services for Helen Andrews Shaddox, 89, of Sweeny, Texas, are set for Friday, May 3, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 402 N. Main Street, Sweeny, Texas 77480 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. John Price officiating. Burial will follow in the First United Methodist Cemetery, East Bernard, Texas.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia, Texas.

Helen Andrews Shaddox was born September 9, 1929 in Blanks, Louisiana to Ventress Edward Andrews, Sr. and Dorothy Taylor Andrews. Helen was a faithful follower of Our Lord Jesus Christ and an active member of First Baptist Church, Sweeny, Texas. She loved her family and made sure they attended church and had all that was needed. She made sure that Sunday was a day of rest.
Helen and her brother graduated in the first class of Wharton County Jr. College. She began work part time at the Old Ocean Federal Credit Union and retired after 30 years as Manager of the Credit Union. Virgil and Helen enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their motorhome.

Mrs. Shaddox was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Virgil Lee Shaddox; and brother Ventress E. Andrews Jr. and wife, Marguerite Moses Andrews and daughter-in-law Gayle Guillott Shaddox.

Survivors include son, Timothy Lee Shaddox and wife, Cleta; daughter, Margaret Shaddox Hinson and husband, Watt; sister Dorothy Andrews Keprta and husband, Dennis; and sister-in-law Polly Wendtland Andrews ; 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given in Helen's memory to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 402 N. Main Street, Sweeny, Texas 77480.

The family would like to thank the employees of The Fountains, Sweeny, Texas and Elmcroft Assisted Living, Lake Jackson, Texas for their loving care and support for Helen Shaddox.
