Janie Rose Balderas

October 26, 1970 — March 9, 2026

Janie Rose Balderas, 55, of East Bernard, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Sugarland. Born on October 26, 1970, in Richmond, to Severo Reyna Balderas and Josephine Cardenas, she attended Needville High School and worked many years in retail. Although her passing feels too soon to those who remain, she is reunited with her parents and her sisters, Angela and Mary Margaret Balderas, as well as other loved ones who preceded her. Known to work hard even in difficult times, she possessed a generous heart, the size of which was only eclipsed by her brilliant smile and appreciation of humor. While being critical of a person’s cooking was one thing, acceptance was a hallmark of how she loved those lucky enough to know her; her greatest wish was for everyone to find happiness. Her passions included cooking elaborately for loved ones, studying and collecting more vintage pottery than those loved ones now know what to do with, and tending her many plants, the majority of which were rescued at a bargain and nursed back to health with a cold beer in the other hand. Hobbies aside, she adored the children in her life. Her greatest joys were her deeply loved granddaughters, Carly Marie Cerda and Eudora Rose Gawron. She is additionally survived by her son, Steven Patrick Hoffman Jr., daughter, Madeleine Rose Gawron, and son-in-law, Anthony Gawron, as well as a host of other family members and loved ones.A celebration of her life will be held to honor her fun-loving spirit at 12:00 noon on Saturday April, 4, 2026, at her daughter’s home, 19902 Muegge Ct., Damon, TX, 77430.
