Jeffrey Bendit, age 71, of Brazoria passed away peacefully March 21, 2022, in Lake Jackson, Tx. Jeffrey was born on October 8, 1950, to Benjamin and Mary Bendit of Glen Rock, New Jersey.
He attended Widener College Class of 1972 (formerly Pennsylvania Military Academy) while joining the United States Army. In 1978, Jeffrey graduated from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Deborah, his daughter Milissa Bendit of Nacogdoches, his sons Anthony Jeane of Huntsville and Micheal Bendit of Lake Jackson, sister Tina Mazan, and brothers Stuart and Mitchel Bendit. He is also survived by his grandchildren Hannah Smith, Madison Bendit, and Caleb Bendit. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents and his son Richard Bendit.
Jeffrey practiced law in Brazoria for 35 years after working in the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office. When he was not at his office doing what he loved, Jeffrey could be found fishing on the Brazos River. He was an outdoorsman, a hobbyist, and an avid learner. As the scoutmaster of Brazoria Troop 503 for over 15 years, he positively influenced the lives of many young men. Jeffrey was Past Master of Masonic Lodge 327 in Brazoria and 32° Scottish Rite.
A memorial service will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr, West Columbia Tx. At 3:00 P.M. on Friday April 1, 2022.
