In Loving Memory of Phil Edmonson
John Phillip Edmonson, born October 11, 1984, in Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, after a sudden illness. He left this world far too soon, but anyone who knew Phil knows his memory will forever stay young in our hearts.
Phil had a gift for making people laugh with his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. He never liked being the center of attention, but he sure knew how to shine the light on others and lift them up. He had a way of making people feel comfortable, and his charming smile could brighten anyone’s day.
He was an outdoors kind of guy — whether it was fishing, playing baseball, or just soaking up the sunshine. He enjoyed working with his hands and was always tinkering with something.
Phillip is survived by his two sons, John Allen Edmonson and Silas Edmonson, both of whom he was very proud of. He also leaves behind his siblings, Brian Keith Edmonson and Shayla Kaestle; his parents, Robert Barry Edmonson and Mike and Ann Velasco, and so many cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Thomas John and Margaret Edmonson, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
Phillip may have left this world too soon, but his wonderful heart, kindness, and love will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him. He’ll be missed every day but remembered with every fishing line cast and every smile shared.
Rest easy, Phil. You’ll always be with us.
