John Robert Gholson, age 69, of Sweeny, Texas, passed away June 18, 2023. John was born February 19, 1954, to Garland and La Verne Gholson in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

John attended Sweeny High School, where he graduated in 1973. Following graduation, he went to work for the Dow Chemical Company. He worked for Dow until his retirement in October 2006.

John was married to the love of his life, Kathy, for 45 years, until her passing in May 2019. He leaves behind one daughter, Tracie Keeth and husband Ty, and one son, J.B. Gholson and wife Courtney, granddaughters Mattie and Brittany, grandsons Jake and Jonathan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00pm, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia, Texas 77486. Burial will be Saturday, June 24, 2023, 10:00am, at Sweeny Cemetery, Old Main Street, Sweeny, Texas 77480.
