John Jowell, Iii

John Allen Jowell III, 57 of Brazoria, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home. He was born February 4, 1961 to John Allen Jowell II and Patricia Barrett in Freeport, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 18, 2018 at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria with Bro. Kenneth James officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm until service time. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny R. Blackstock, Bubba Orchard, Wayne Harris, Dolan Harris, Dewayne Schneider, John Allen Jowell IV, Cecil Money, and Steven Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Black, Bill Kirkpatrick, Roger Owens, Steven Havercamp, Marlin Jones and Charlie Blackstock.

Jaybo, as most know him by, was a talented cooker. He loved to cook and entered several cook offs through the years. He had a passion for deer hunting and being outdoors. If you couldn't catch them at home, you would find them at a deer lease. Jaybo was a stubborn hard-headed man with a heart of gold.

Jaybo is survived by his loving wife of many years, Tina Blackstock; mom, Bell Jowell James of Brazoria; daughter, Jennifer Jowell and spouse, Bryan Mitchell of Kansas; son, John Allen Jowell IV; daughter, Crissy Blackstock and Bubba Orchard of Sweeny; son, Johnny Blackstock and wife, Aleigh of Sweeny; sisters, Donna Beth Presley and Mo of Mineral Wells, Rosa and Bud of Mineral Wells, and Jimmi of Mineral Wells; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jaybo was known as "Papaw" to his grandkids, Hailey and Kirstyn Santimauro, Gauge Blackstock, Fanacy and Skye Dike, Myracle and Cecil Mitchell, and Vinnie Jowell.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Allen Jowell II; sister, Kathy Jowell; and son, Charles Ray Blackstock, Jr.
