John Landry

John Vernon Landry, Jr, 84, of West Columbia passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Galveston, Texas. John was born March 22, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Thelma Maria (Gasquet) and John Vernon Landry.

John graduated from LSU with a Chemical Engineering Degree. He worked at Dow Chemical as a leader, went on to become part owner of Gulf States, Inc. and from there worked as a consultant.

He attended Gulf Coast Christian Center.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid LSU football fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darcile Landry and daughter Lynn Landry.

John is survived by his loving wife Suzanne Landry; sons Donald Landry, Darren Landry and wife Chance, Kevin Sizemore and wife Shirley, John Landry III and wife Eva and Kyle Sizemore; daughter Victoria Davenport and husband Joey; grandchildren Lauren Coats and husband Kyle, Rachel Myers, Kenan Sizemore, Morgan Sizemore, Archer Davenport, and Ryker Davenport.

A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Gulf Coast Christian Center, 725 W. Brazos Ave., in West Columbia with Bob Hankins officiating.
