Jolinda Davenport

Jolinda Carol Davenport, 55 of Sweeny, Texas passed away at her home on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born on September 5, 1961 in Bay City, Texas to Joe Ed McDougald and Linda Louise (Collins) McDougald. She married Frank "Rod" Davenport on July 5, 1978. She graduated from Sweeny High School in 1980.

She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, scrapbooking, cross stitching, and collecting lady bug, humming- bird, and Noah's Ark trinkets. You could not have a conversation with her without mention being made of her children and grandchildren. She was always looking for ways to help her friends and family, wanting them to feel special and loved. You could always depend on Mama JoJo to have your back.

Her family is comforted in knowing that her unceasing faith in Jesus Christ has ensured an eternal home for her in heaven.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Friday, June 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Sweeny with Pastors Jerl Watkins and John Price officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Mathis, Dick Williams, Mark McDougald, David McDougald, Jessie McDougald and Jamison McDougald.

Jolinda is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rod Davenport of Sweeny; daughter, Brandi Lucher and husband, Josh of Sugar Land; son, J.D. Davenport and Tia Searles of West Columbia; parents, Joe Ed and Louise McDougald of Sweeny; brother, John David McDougald and wife, Kathleen of Sweeny; grandchildren, Dillon Davenport, Alyssa Davenport, Addison Lucher, Kaiden Davenport, Greyson Lucher and Collin Davenport; and beloved Boxer, Penny.

She is preceded in death by her brother, James Allen McDougald.
