Judith Eileen Russell Hanson

January 12, 1942 – July 10, 2026

Judith Eileen, passed away on July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 12, 1942, to George F. and Kathryn Shine Russell. Mom was a proud Irish Yankee, who lived a beautiful life in Brazoria County, Texas for over 50 years.

She married George Elton Hanson, Jr. on November 4, 1989, and together they enjoyed many years of fishing, dancing and spending time with family. Upon their retirement, they built their dream home at the Bar X Ranch. She loved feeding the birds and watching the wildlife that visited their yard. She & George had some great travel adventures, especially her bucket list trip to Alaska.

She gathered so many wonderful friends throughout her life. And dogs!!

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother George Norman Russell.

She is survived by her husband George Hanson; her children Chrissie and husband Steve Leshikar; Keith and wife Pam Malzman; Brenda and husband Travis Sakellaridis; Grandchildren Sarah Malzman Brown and husband Mark Brown; Megan Patterson and husband Chris Powell; and Rachel Patterson; Great-grandchildren Aubrey and Skylar Brown. Last, but certainly not least, her beloved best friend and faithful companion, Doc.

In honor of her wishes, a short memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas at 1:00pm.

The family has chosen to have private time together after the service.
