Kirkland Dewayne Lunford, affectionately known as “Kirk” and “Sticc,” was born March 30, 1980, in Galveston, Texas to Edward Austin Jr. and Mary Lunford.

He attended school in Clute, TX, where he excelled as an athlete at Clute Intermediate and Brazoswood High School. Kirk had a kind spirit, was a friend to many, and loved making people smile and laugh. His greatest passion was coaching youth football and mentoring young athletes in his community.

Kirk held various jobs throughout his life, including construction and hotshot trucking, before discovering his true calling as a safety specialist. He courageously faced significant health challenges while maintaining a positive outlook and trusting God through every trial and tribulation. He peacefully transitioned on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

More than anything, Kirk loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a beloved son and brother, and a loyal friend. His generous heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew him, and his memory will live on in the lives he changed.
