Lana Tipps

Lana Gayle Tipps, 66, of Cedar Lane, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral home in West Columbia, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8. Funeral services will be held, 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 9 at Sweeny Church of Christ.

Lana was born in Bay City, Texas to David Quisenberry Hammond and Murieldean Hammond, on September 2, 1950. Lana grew up in Sweeny, Texas. She married Lester Tipps Sr. on February 15, 2007. Lana enjoyed spending her time reading, writing, traveling, camping and spending time with her family.

Lana is preceded in death by both her parents; daughter Sharmane Kristine Thurman, and son-in-law Adam Fuentes.

Lana is survived by her husband, Lester Tipps Sr., sister, Sandra Blaine and husband Tom; children, Kara Crews and husband Donald; Laurie Fuentes; Lacey Crawford and husband Tony, Brian Tipps and wife Darlene; Lester Tipps Jr. and wife Tammy; Spring Ferguson and husband Brian. Sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lana was a warm hearted person who loved her children and grandchildren and her animals, she loved to read and write poems also.
